RPEQ engineering for retaining walls
Walls over a metre high, close to the house or holding up a driveway or pool need to be designed by an engineer. We organise RPEQ certified drawings as part of your build.
Why engineering matters
An RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) designs the wall for your soil, height and load, and certifies the drawings. That's what building approval relies on, and it's what keeps a tall wall standing.
Engineering sets the post size and spacing, footing depth, drainage and backfill. We then build exactly to those drawings.
You don't need to find an engineer yourself. We organise it, pass on the drawings, and handle the approval if it's needed.
Walls that usually need engineering
Over 1 metre high
Measured from the bottom of the wall to the top of the retained ground.
Close to buildings
Within 1.5 metres of a house, shed or another retaining wall.
Carrying load
Holding up a driveway, pool, shed or car parking above it.
Tiered walls
Walls stepped close together act on each other and need checking.

If yours isn't here, give us a call.
Do I need to find my own engineer?
No. We organise RPEQ engineering for you as part of the job.
Can you build to plans I already have?
Yes. If you already have engineered drawings, send them through and we'll quote to them.
Got a job in mind?
We'll come out, have a look and give you a free written quote.
