Retaining walls for Mount Cotton and surrounding suburbs
Sloping blocks are the norm around Mount Cotton, Sheldon, Burbank, Chandler, Carbrook, Cornubia, Shailer Park and Daisy Hill. Retaining walls and earthworks are what we do most here.
Hilly blocks need good walls
This area spans three councils. Mount Cotton and Sheldon are Redland City, Burbank and Chandler are Brisbane City, and Carbrook, Cornubia, Shailer Park and Daisy Hill are Logan City. We check which rules apply to your block.
Steeper blocks mean taller walls, and taller walls often need RPEQ engineering and approval. We organise both, then do the cut, the wall and the drainage with our own machines.
Larger acreage blocks in Sheldon and Burbank suit sandstone and boulder walls, while estate blocks usually suit concrete sleepers.

My block is steep. Can you still help?
Yes. Steep blocks are where walls and earthworks matter most. We'll look at the slope, soil and access and talk you through options, including tiered walls.
Do I need council approval for a retaining wall in Brisbane?
Usually yes if the wall is over 1 metre high, sits within 1.5 metres of a building or another wall, or holds up extra load like a driveway, pool or shed. Those walls need RPEQ engineering and building approval. Lower walls can still be affected by easements, sewer lines and overland flow. We'll check this when we come out, and organise the drawings and approval if you need them.
How much does a retaining wall cost in Brisbane?
It depends on height, length, wall type, site access, soil and whether engineering is needed. We'll come out, have a look and give you a free written quote.
