Retaining walls and landscaping in the Redlands
Retaining walls, fences, earthworks and landscaping in Capalaba, Birkdale, Wellington Point, Ormiston, Cleveland, Thornlands, Victoria Point and Redland Bay.
Working in Redland City
The Redlands is Redland City Council, not Brisbane, so approvals and local rules are a little different. We know the difference and handle it for you.
Newer estates in Thornlands, Victoria Point and Redland Bay often come with sloping blocks and builder's cuts that need a wall. Older blocks in Capalaba, Birkdale and Wellington Point often need tired timber walls replaced with concrete sleepers.
Like the Bayside, coastal suburbs such as Cleveland and Ormiston get salt air, so we choose materials that last near the water.

Do you need different approval in the Redlands?
The state rules are the same, but local requirements come from Redland City Council. We check what applies to your property and organise approval if it's needed.
Do I need council approval for a retaining wall in Brisbane?
Usually yes if the wall is over 1 metre high, sits within 1.5 metres of a building or another wall, or holds up extra load like a driveway, pool or shed. Those walls need RPEQ engineering and building approval. Lower walls can still be affected by easements, sewer lines and overland flow. We'll check this when we come out, and organise the drawings and approval if you need them.
How much does a retaining wall cost in Brisbane?
It depends on height, length, wall type, site access, soil and whether engineering is needed. We'll come out, have a look and give you a free written quote.
